The Bible clearly states that there was no death of humans, or animals (including dinosaurs) before Adam sinned. It teaches that the actions of one man, Adam brought death into the world and that the entire creation has suffered the consequences.

Evolutionists, on the other hand believe that death has been going on for millions of years. It requires the death of billions of animals slowly evolving to bring humans into existence.

Many (not all) who believe in evolution don't believe there is a God, they don't believe man was created, and they don't believe there is any such thing as sin. You are free to think what you like on either end of this debate as well.

As for cavemen, the caveman theory is not biblical at all. Evolutionists, who do not believe in Creation, theorize that men came from the apes and in millions of years they evolved into a primitive man, such as the caveman.

It's amazing to me that we all began in the gleam of our daddy's eye and had no idea, at the time, of what we were getting into while developing in mom's womb, and have developed from two cells--sperm and ovum-- into semi-literate human beings, and we now begin pondering on how this whole thing got started.    We humans take an egregious amount of pride in our intellect, when in fact, we use imagination and faith to support our ignorance...especially in how the universe was started and how humans got caught up in it, which means that whatever position you take (e.g., evolutionist or creationist) it is merely a guess.   "When you take a positive position for either side, you are saying that I am God; I'm the one who knows all of the secrets of the universe."   Science has made some very interesting discoveries over the last century. We've come from buggy whips to jetliners, and from animal breeding to cloning.  While science uncovers more and more of nature's secrets, we must realize that these facts have existed since the beginning of time and we are nowhere close to understanding whether or not the universe and life began with a big bang or that a big man with a white beard waved his scepter across space and formed all of the stars and planets in the sky.    Did God create dinosaurs before cavemen?  Just for fun, I'm going along with H. P. Blavatsky's "Secret Doctrine" who says that Spiritual Man came first, then ordinary man, then cavemen, and dinosaurs.  Like all of the other theories, it's an interesting guess.

Like anything you should base your stance of logic, fact and evidence. There is no evidence to support gods existance, there is no evidence that the bible is god word and there is no evidence of any higher being responding through prayer etc. Therfore the logical conclusion is that god does not exist.   Just like the old saying innocent before proven guilty. Religion is false until proven true. Evolution is based on reaserch, facts, logic and evidence. Religion is not. To me their is only one stance, Atheism.   SG

Dinosaurs and man didnt co-exist. That is a fact.   "The dinosaurs ate those who created them and eventually ate up everything  and so died leaving behind their creators"   Shining that makes no sense what so ever.   SG

adviceguru, you've got some good point. Based on my research, I think dinosaurs did coexist on the same Earth as man, and while the Flood wiped out everything but that which was on the Ark (evidence of the Flood is apparent all over the world), young animals, including dinos, would fit in the ark - given the dimensions given for the Ark, it could easily fit two of each kind of animal. The Bible does not count specific species, and it does say two of each animal came to Noah - he didn't have to go search far and wide for them - so with the "father and mother" of all today's species rounded up in pairs, the Ark could fit it all.Why don't we see dinosaur fossils and human fossils in the same spot? There's some interesting ideas to that, too. For one, I don't exactly think humans would live side by side with dinosaurs, esp. if many of them became carnivorous after the fall. The Behemoth mentioned in the book of Job largely describes a Brachiosaur. Also, cave paintings and many stories suggest dinosaur-like animal sightings around the world. I tend to believe that after the Tower of Babel, mankind was scattered to all corners of the Earth (which the Bible says was round all along, by the way), and that the world's condition after the Flood necessitated an ice age. Receding ocean waters and frozen glaciers would provide ample footing for mass migration of human beings, and I think that "cavemen" were actual humans that had different bone structure to cope with the harsh elements. An ice age is not specifically referred to in the Bible (but it is hinted at), but in line with the weather patterns of our world, it is entirely possible.I think it's a stretch to believe either that an all-powerful God created all this, or that all existence evolved out of nothing. Even the vacuum of space isn't "nothing." People will claim that there's no evidence of God, or say they'll believe Him when they see Him, but then again evolution asks us to believe that life came about in a way akin to a hurricane passing through a junkyard and leaving behind a Boeing 747. Yes, both are hard to believe. In the end though, I personally see too many holes in evolution to believe in it. As well, the Bible gives me a firm foundation not only for science and history, but also the human condition, and my own life. Consider this: The Bible has been around for centuries, much of it for millennia. Darwin's theories have been around since the late 1850's. Most educational institutions just accept evolution and teach it as fact, even though it is just a theory with many exceptions included with its rules. It could be that many people are anti-Bible just because "education" today has still riding a fad of evolution, just as we once thought the world was flat, or that everything revolved around our planet. That could leave us as merely a product of today's popular theory - but in the scheme of history, we might be accepting something for truth that will be outdated given enough time.Meanwhile, the bestselling book of all time will endure. My money's on the Bible!

Lid you may not see human fossils next to dinosaur fossils but never has a human fossil been dated to anywhere near that of a dinosaur fossil. That ammounts to the fact that they didnt co-exist.   What hole shave you found in evolution, I will endevour to enlighten you.   SG
  • lidstrom82 said Aug 22, 2007...
If you seek to enlighten me as a cartoon caveman clubs his wife over the head and drags her back to the cave, like your previous approach to any other religion/atheism discussions we've had, then I'll pass. I prefer civilized discussion, more like our private message correspondence.
  • StupidGenius said Aug 22, 2007...
Lid, my comments on religion are now reserved for my blog on creationism vs evolution. I just cant keep answering 5 blogs with the same comments and points of view its a pain in the ass.   SG
  • lidstrom82 said Aug 22, 2007...
You know dude, that totally makes sense. It focuses your points in one place, and it doesn't give the feeling of plugging holes on the bottom of a boat, jumping from one blog to another all day.I was thinking about it, and I came to the same conclusion yesterday. Our own blogs will speak for themselves. I'm not totally sure if we would/should invite the other to comment on each other's blogs, but personal messages might be better, because we've had it out debating all sorts of stuff.I think you know more about evolution than almost anyone I know, and while I don't ascribe to it, I would like to learn about it. Can you shoot me a message and explain the core stance on evolution?

I know some of shining's stuff sounds "out there" SG, but you can afford her a bit more respect :)
  • StupidGenius said Aug 27, 2007...
I will not respect a statement like that. If I said to you that spacemen visited me and put probes in my anus while dancing around to britney spears wearing pink bunny suits then you would say that is rediculous, I feel that that statement was the same. Please dont tell me who to respect and who not to, you earn respect, you dont just wake up one day to find that all the people around you suddenly feel it towards you.   SG
  • lidstrom82 said Aug 27, 2007...
That's the point though, dude. You can respect others without a reason, while pointing out what they believe is whack, in your opinion. You'll find that many will receive those words better when you respect them, rather  than suggesting their words are possibly the most ridiculous you've ever heard. Common sense says you earn respect - Jesus says give it freely while correcting a person in error.
  • StupidGenius said Aug 27, 2007...
Sorry, as you know jesus and I dont get along. I say it as I see it. If you say something stupid then ill tell you it is. Maybe honest to a fault but I see no fault in being honest.   SG
  • lidstrom82 said Aug 27, 2007...
You guys can hurl lack of respect at each other all day, but it does nothing to fulfill you except to be heard - until someone tunes you out. There's a better way, guys.

God created dinosaurs and cavemen! Dinosaurs perished because of extinction and scarcity of food!
  • StupidGenius said Oct 17, 2007...
God does not exist, simple as that. You don't need to believe something just because it makes you feel better. believe something because it has evidence to support it. God dosn't save, he dosn't heal he dosn't provide and he dosnt help starving children in Africa... what does he actually do??? NOT ALOT SG

Alright, im just gonna try and attack from a different view point. If the ark were to contain all the animals Noah his wife his 3 sons and his 3 daughter in laws and possibly a small band of followers. Is it possible for that small group of people in the space of 6000 years to reproduce enough so that our population is 6.5 billion today?
  • Rijanbritanicus said Feb 1, 2011...
Evolution is a fact not creation with a boom bash miracle. Miracle is a paradox so if we flush it we find no god which is truth n for your information Noah is a copycat of a sumarian myth and great flood is a copy from the gilgamesh tablet.
